Mobile checklist

Mobile app launch checklist for indie makers

Check the store listing, onboarding, support and external launch channels before sending a new audience to a mobile app.

Verify the store foundation

Confirm the public name, category, device compatibility, pricing, privacy disclosures and support URL. Use current screenshots from the real product. Test every store link from the product website and launch copy on both desktop and mobile.

Test the first ten minutes

Install on a clean device and review permissions, account creation, loading states, empty states and the first meaningful action. Ensure a user can recover from common errors and find support without returning to the store review section.

Prepare launch assets

Create a literal one-sentence value proposition, a short product explanation, current screenshots and one short demonstration. Keep feature claims consistent with the released build and avoid showing interface states that are not available to new users.

Sequence external channels

Use beta or startup communities for early feedback, a launch platform for a coordinated public moment and comparison directories for later discovery. The store listing remains the conversion page, so improve it before increasing external attention.

Measure beyond installs

Track first-session completion, activation, retention and support issues by source. A channel that generates fewer installs but more retained users may be the better fit. Update directory pages when platform support, pricing or screenshots change.

Platform rules and pricing change. Always check the current official guidance before submitting your product.
